What's it all about?

Creative thinking and innovation involves thinking about new ideas and how things can be improved. It's about learning from experience and wanting things to be the best they can be. Exploring and making the most out of digital tools and technology is also important.

This includes qualities such as:

  • Coming up with new ideas and ways of doing things
  • Experimenting with different ideas to see what works and what doesn't
  • Looking at things from a unique perspective

Learning and adapting

What's it all about?

Learning and adapting is about being open to change as well as being curious and keen to learn new things. It's also about looking after your own and others' well-being.

This includes qualities such as:

  • Not giving up when things don't go to plan
  • Taking the time to find out as much as possible about a topic or piece of work
  • Remaining composed when faced with change or uncertainty
  • Working to achieve a high standard

Problem solving

What's it all about?

Problem solving is about using information to make decisions and solve problems, as well as having an awareness of how different pieces of information might connect with one another. It's also about having great attention to detail.

This includes qualities such as:

  • Asking questions to find out information and help solve problems
  • Seeing the links and patterns between different pieces of information
  • Working with care and attention to detail
  • Thinking about the wider impact or consequences of decisions

Working together

What's it all about?

Working together means working well with others and valuing the views different people have. It's about listening and communicating effectively and acting on feedback from other people.

This includes qualities such as:

  • Working well as a team to achieve a group goal
  • Respecting others' values and differences
  • Communicating clearly and simply
  • Sharing information with others to get the best outcomes

Relationship building

What's it all about?

Relationship building means creating good relationships with others through warmth and empathy, as well as being open, honest and taking responsibility for your actions.

This includes qualities such as:

  • Taking the time to build relationships with others and to understand what matters to them
  • Seeing things from someone else’s point of view
  • Taking responsibility for your actions and following up on what you said you would do
